The Snow King’s Proposal - original painting

In a realm, not so far away, there lives several clans ofmagical snow-cats who love to skate and ski and drink hot sweet drinks in the fresh chilly air. The King of this realm, (King Basil of the Snow cats) is deeply in love with Maeve the ice-faery and so today he is ready to propose. The Snow King offers a pomegranate pendant to Maeve as he happily declares his love. A pomegranate is a sacred symbol in this part of the world, as it speaks of love, unity and a long life of family harmony. The pomegranate also symbolises rebirth and fertility and so comes with a deep feeling of new beginnings.A keyhole has been carved into the pendant as Maeve holdsthe key to Basil’s heart. Maeve smiles as her hands warm on her hot chocolate. What might she say to the eager Snow King?
