The Heroine is a watery goddess who protects and cares for the creatures of the fresh waters - the lakes, the rivers, the ponds and creeks. The water is home to so many feathery scaly furry animals and when left to live and thrive, each species has a significant role to play in the essential ecosystem that keeps our planet alive and flourishing.
And not only that - all of these animals are sentient. They think and feel emotions and physical pain - yes - even fish!
I painted this painting as I was inspired by all the people out there being heroes and heroines for the water and the creatures within it. I dream of a world in which this heroism was hardly ever needed - a world in which all of mankind would stop polluting and stop taking lives from the water.
